ABOUT US
We started selling firewood several years ago as a hobby. Our parents and grandparents used firewood to heat their homes so we kind of grew up hauling, splitting and processing firewood. Let's just say it wasn't Jen's favorite then. It wasn't until a family friend mentioned selling in smaller amounts to service more customers that we really took off. It was this one action and something called a pandemic that pushed our little firewood business to the next level. We are so grateful to be able to bring quality premium firewood to area campers, homeowners, restaurants, wineries, and ice fisherman just to name a few. Firewood Services
95% of our firewood is personally delivered by us. We strive to delivery to you within 1-2 days. Things that impact that delivery will be the amount and delivery distance. We often say "We are a delivery service that happens to deliver firewood."
What do most of our customers use our firewood for?
Sauna Wood
For most wood-burning sauna stoves, it is recommended to use both softwoods and hardwoods. Softwoods such as pine, cedar, fir, and spruce are great for kindling and getting the fire started. Once lit, hardwoods such as oak, birch ash, and maple are used to keep the fire burning hot and long.
Wood fired Pizza Wood/ Meat Smoking/ BBQ
Generally meat is smoked using hardwood or
wood pellets made from hardwood; softwood is not recommended. Wood smoke adds flavor, aroma, and helps with preservation. There are two types of smoking: cold smoking generally occurs below 90 °F (32 °C) and has more preservative value. Hot smoking generally occurs above 160 °F (71 °C). Most woods are seasoned and not used green. There are many types of wood used for smoking; a partial list includes:
Fireplace Wood
The best type of wood for your fireplace is hardwood. Hardwood comes from trees that change colors and lose their leaves in the fall. Because they grow slowly, hardwoods produce dense and low moisture wood. These characteristics are perfect for indoor burning, as hardy, dry wood produces the most heat and lasts the longest.
Each type of hardwood offers unique benefits. The most common types of hardwood used for indoor fireplaces are oak, maple, birch and various fruitwoods, such as cherry.

Campfire Wood
We recommend using a mizture of our hardwoods for your campfire. This will produce both heat and flame and will make a great overall fire.
What species of wood do you have?
Oak, Maple, Birch, Hickory and Cherry are our primary firewood species we sell.
We occasionally have Apple, Pecan and Mesquite.
What does it mean to be seasoned firewood?
Q: What does seasoned firewood look like?
A: A good sign to look out for in well seasoned firewood is cracks in the end grain of the logs. To identify well seasoned/dried wood, check the ends of the logs. If they are brown in colour and slightly split at the ends, they will be dry. Dry wood is lighter in weight than wet wood and makes a hollow sound when hitting two pieces together. If there is any green shading visible or bark is hard to peel, the log is not properly yet dried.
Q: Why does wood spit in a fire?
A: The heat from the fire causes the fluids within wood to first boil and then vaporize into steam. The contained water begins to exert pressure in the log. Eventually, the wood gives way. The snap sound one hears is the wood splitting and releasing water into the flames.
Q: How long does it take freshly cut logs to dry before burning?
A: Green wood (that is, wood that has been freshly cut) can take over 1-2 years in the open air to season well enough for burning as fuel. Our firewood is dried one year on the log and one year split.
Where does our firewood come from?
Family owned logging companies supply us with these beautiful logs. 100% of our firewood comes from logs rejected by the lumber mill. In some ways we are recycling the trees.
